Our adult Palmetto Masters swim team will be headed to Myrtle Beach for our first state meet at the end of the month. They practice each morning from 6:00 AM-7:00 AM at Danny Jones. The cost is $15.00 per month for residents/$30 per month for non-residents to practice at that time.
Open Swim Pass
Our spring season Open/Lap swim pass is now on sale and lasts through Memorial Day weekend. For an individual the cost is $30 resident/$60 non-resident. The cost for the entire family is $50 resident/$100 non-resident. Passes can be purchased at the Armory across from the pool. Open Swim is Tuesday/Thursday nights, 7pm -8:30pm and on Saturdays 11am - 1pm.

All-Star teams were picked for boys and girls ages 9-14. We have 8 teams competing in SCAP All-Star tournaments around the Lowcountry. This year we will be hosting the 9-10 Boys sub-district and District tournaments at Northwoods and 11-12 boys district tournament at Cathedral Academy. The tournaments start March 6th and finish up on Sunday, March 9th .
Youth Baseball and Softball Registration
Registrations has ended and teams are being formed. Practices are allowed to begin March 3rd and the opening jamborees are scheduled for Saturday, April 5th. Thunder softball will hold another clinic on Saturday, March 8th at Pepperhill Park.

The North Charleston Recreation Department is still accepting Women's Recreation Softball Teams. Entry fee for the league is $600.00 per team. This includes 16 games, sanction fee, umpires and awards.

The North Charleston Recreation Department has a very active Adult Tennis Program. Our team tennis program offers a variety of levels of competition and is open to men and women. Matches are played against teams across the Greater Charleston area.
The North Charleston Recreation Department offers Tennis Lessons and Clinics at the Collins Park Tennis Center on the Collins Park Complex (4115 Fellowship Road off Dorchester Road). Fees vary depending on type of lesson or clinic (group or private), Lesson Packages are available. Lessons are available for Adults and Children. Disc Golf is played on the outer 8 islands around Park Circle Monday - Sunday from dusk to dawn, continuously. Tuesday night doubles are played beginning at 6:00 pm. The North Charleston Recreation Department and "Fly Dog Fitness" have joined together to offer Adult Fitness programs in callaborative effort to make "North Charleston More Physically Fit"! Together we are offering the most unique, creative and exciting workouts ion the area. Whether you consider yourself to be in good shape or can't remember the last time you did more physical activity required at work, we can cater to your fitness level.
We are offering you the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself, raise your self-esteem, and increase your social value and influence...all while getting an invigorating workout.
Classes take place for the majority on the outside; utilizing some of North Charleston's most beautiful green spaces at Park Circle, Danny Jones Complex and Riverfront Park. Morning classes meet on M,W,F (3 days a week, 12 sessions) 6:00 am - 7:00 am. Evening classes meet Mon.-Thurs. (4 days a week, 16 sessions) 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. In addition to our 6 am and 6 pm sessions, we offer Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9am and 5 pm classes. Once you sign up for one time slot, you may attend as many different sessions in a 4 week camp as you like! 2014 Summer Camp Registration Announced
Summer Camp registration will begin February 10th and will be open until camps are full to capacity. Campers must be between the ages of 5- 12 on or before June 9, 2014 to register for summer camp. The North Charleston Afterschool program is designed to keep your child motivated and active after school while providing quality supervision and guidance. Afterschool programs operate in 10 community centers across the city. With student to staff ratio, we are equipped to serve 300 students for the 2013 – 2014 school year. Programs run in correlation with the Charleston County School District 2013 – 2014 school year.

Activity and Play Days
Activity and Play Days are available during most school holidays. When there is no school for the school district, the community centers run “Activity & Play Day” from 7:30am to 5:30pm for the children of the various communities to have a place to go while parents are at work. Programming will include recreational activities, games, arts and crafts and homework tutoring. The environment with the afterschool programs is safe, enjoyable and conducive for learning to take place. AAPR Tax Preparation
AARP continues to offer free tax service for senior adults. AARP will be on site Mondays and Wednesday through April 14, 10am - 2:30pm.
Haro Jun, a certified yoga instructor and participant in our Monday line dancing class is now offering “wake up” yoga from 8:30-9am on Monday mornings. Line dancers and others are invited to participate. There is no charge for the class.
Join us as we "Walk the Circle" at our leisure! Log your laps inside the community center at the receptionist desk and becomeeligible for Incentive Prizes for walking milestones. Registration is required for this FREE program. Men and women 50+ years of age are eligible to take part. registration is continuous!

Registration for Senior Water Aerobics . Registrations are accepted at Armory Park or Park Circle. The cost is $20 a month.
Bellyfit, a class that focuses on stomach fitness with a belly dancing influence will be held every Monday at Park Circle beginning at 6:00pm.

Pitch, Hit and Run
This program allows young athletes to showcase their individual skills in pitching, hitting and running. Local competition is tentatively schedule during April. All around winners will advance to a sectional competition. Participants must play in local league. Ages 7-8 years; Ages 9-10 years; Ages 11-12 years; Ages 13-14 years.
