Adult Ceramics Programs

Adult Therapeutics Painting & Clay Classes
Time: 10:30 am – 12 pm.
Ages: 18 & OlderJoin us at Park Circle Ceramics! These classes are designed to offer artistic opportunities to adults with a disability.

Painting Classes

July 16^th Beach Coasters- We will create a textured beach scene on tiles.
July 23^rd Ornaments- Celebrate Christmas in July by painting 3 Christmas ornaments.
August 6^th – Bubble Blowing Mugs- Using a straw and glaze we will learn how to decorate our mugs by blowing bubbles on them.
August 20^th – We will use tape and glaze to create lines and patterns on our mugs.

Clay Classes

July 9^th – Texture Coasters- We will use imprints and underglaze to create textures on clay tiles. Coasters will be finished with cork backing and ready for pickup 2 weeks after class.
July 30^th – Ice Cream Cone- Using textures and glaze on clay slabs to create ice cream waffle cones.
August 13^th – Windchimes- Using cookie cutters and glaze we will make pieces of a windchime. Windchimes will be hung and ready for pickup 2 weeks after class.

Summer Open Gym Time

North Charleston Raptors Basketball

Adaptive Basketball is a variation of traditional basketball that allows athletes of all abilities to participate, build self-confidence and develop teamwork skills. Join us to learn the basic skills of basketball: dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding, and defense. Players will meet once a week for practices.

2024 Season Dates:

February 22 – April 18 ( Thursdays)
Time: 6:00 – 7:00PM
North Charleston Sports Complex -1455 Monitor Street
Cost: $30 per player

In the summer of 2024, the plan is to host a therapeutic open gym basketball time where players interested in getting active and meeting new people have the opportunity to stop by and play open gym basketball. Stay tuned for more details on this!

Kickball

Throughout the year the TR programs division hosts large scale kickball tournaments for local schools and adult group programs. These events are open to public participation or for you to register and bring a group. Typically kickball tournaments are hosted 2-3 times per year. Check back for information on the next Kickball Tournament!
