Please join our agency in congratulating Pfc. Christopher Brasseaux, who was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for May 2024. Pfc. Brasseaux has diligently researched, planned, and formulated a strategy to establish a support system for veterans within NCPD.
Officer Brasseaux identified a significant need for a Veteran Support Officer (VSO). Once he recognized this need, Pfc. Brasseaux worked on his own time to establish a VSO and ultimately got the position approved.
His position will now assist with peer support, which will include assisting officers while deployed, maintaining contact with deployed officers, reassuring veterans that they can discuss problems confidentially and without repercussions, and providing other assistance and resources through the VA and SCVA.
