Please join our agency in congratulating several officers for earning Employee of the Month and Certificates of Recognition for June. Lt. Victor Buskirk, M.P.O. Jessie Demalo, Pfc. Michael Vullo, Ptl. Salvatore Olivia and Ptl. Jeremy Maurer were awarded Employee of the Month. Sgt. Michael Lawrence, Cpl. James Fullwood, Ptl. Bre’Onna Searles and Ptl. Tara Johnson were awarded Certificates of Recognition.
On June 19, officers responded to Trade Center regarding a man being attacked by another man with a machete. When confronted by officers the suspect pulled the machete from his backpack and refused to drop it. Officers were able to tase the suspect, forcing him to drop the machete and fall to the ground. Officers were then able to handcuff the suspect. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The suspect was charged with murder.
