Officer awarded for rescuing woman from floodwaters

Please join our agency in congratulating Ptl. Louis Pinnacle-Brown, who received a Certificate of Recognition for July 2024. On July 9, Officer Pinnacle-Brown was on his way from an off-duty detail when he heard multiple calls dispatched for a female causing a disturbance at the Park Circle playground.
Several units were unable to get there due to flooding. On his way to Park Circle, Officer Pinnacle-Brown saw a vehicle that was caught in the flooding at the intersection of East Montague Avenue and Piedmont Avenue. The vehicle was occupied by an elderly female driver.
Officer Pinnacle-Brown carried her from the vehicle and out of the flooding. He made sure she wasn’t injured. Great job, sir!
