Garbage Removal
Garbage removal is provided on a weekly basis according to the outline below. Household garbage must be placed in the roll cart containers provided by the City. Additional garbage contained in non-standard containers will be picked up from time to time; however, if a resident routinely generates more garbage than can be held in the provided container they will be required to purchase the use of an additional container for regular collection. Containers should be placed at street side before 7:00 am on collection day. They are not to be placed more than 12-hours prior to that time and must be removed within 12 hours of pick-up.
All Garbage MUST be placed within a city provided roll cart.
Households are allowed to purchase 1 additional roll cart for a one-time fee of $65. To order an additional roll cart, complete the form below
Please remember that lawn clippings and leaves, bagged in paper yard waste bags, are collected on the same day that household garbage is collected. Yard debris bagged in plastic will NOT be collected.
To request a service or provide notification of an issue, either call (843) 745-1026 or submit your concern online.
Beginning July 1, 2015, the City of North Charleston will only pick up yard waste in paper bags for curbside pickup. Plastic bags for disposal will no longer be collected.
