The North Charleston Police Department COPS Athletic Program’s Summer Basketball League will tip-off Thursday, July 23 when teams from the Liberty Hill, Chicora-Cherokee, Union Heights, and Russelldale neighborhoods take to the courts.
Tip off time is 6 p.m. at Liberty Hill basketball court on Hassell Street with Liberty Hill taking on Chicora-Cherokee followed by Union Heights versus Russelldale at 7 p.m. The basketball league is open to boys 12 to 14 years old.
Captain Terrell Palmer, COPS Athletic Program coordinator said, “In addition to being a game of fun, the games will introduce the players to team work, character building, and professional development.”
The COPS Athletic Program is designed to offer youth the opportunity to interact with police officers in a positive setting.
