Early Saturday morning NCPD officers responded to a commercial burglar alarm and quickly arrested two suspects who were inside the business. When officers arrived at Asian Garden on Rivers Ave. around 4:30 a.m., they noticed the side glass door had been busted open and that the lights had been turned on. The officers saw one of the suspects, 38-year old Donte Ward run out of the building through the shattered door, trying to run away. After a brief foot pursuit, Sgt. Wilkerson and Pfc. Monaghan took Ward into custody without incident. After a secondary sweep of the business Sgt. Wilkerson, Pfc. Monaghan and Ptl. Klukow found the second suspect, 37-year old Jarrod Green. Both suspects are charged with Violent Burglary 2nd Degree. Officers learned that Green also had an active warrant for burglary with our agency.
