NCPD wants to recognize some of our officers for outstanding work on two burglary cases. Early Thursday morning officers responded to a commercial burglar alarm a the Family Dollar at 3315 Rivers Avenue. Ptl. Klukow saw the front door was open and spotted a man inside the store trying to leave. Officer Klukow, Pfc. Monaghan and Ptl. Taylor conducted a sweep for suspects inside the business. The officers located the suspect, identified as 30-year old Terrance Anthony Haley hiding under a pile of dog food bags. He was taken into custody without incident. Officers say Haley attempted to steal ten cartons of cigarettes from the store.
While working on the suspect’s bond packet officers received a call in reference to a vandalism at McDonalds at 3710 Rivers Avenue. Officers were able to link Haley to a burglary there. The suspect allegedly stole change from the Ronald McDonald charity. Haley has been charged two counts of burglary second degree.
