As South Carolina’s retail sales leader for the past 23 years, the City of North Charleston offers the best shopping in the state, from retail hubs to small neighborhood boutiques. Our retail sales are fueled by large shopping destinations, such as Centre Pointe and Northwoods Mall. However, North Charleston boasts small, locally owned retailers dotting the city in our Historic District and around Coosaw Pointe.
Centre Pointe
Centre Pointe is North Charleston’s premier shopping destination. Located near the intersection of I-26 and I-526 just across from the North Charleston Coliseum, Centre Pointe boasts numerous retail stores and eateries at a central location within the Greater Charleston Area.
Sams Club and Super Wal-Mart were the first stores to be built in Centre Pointe. Tanger Outlets within Centre Pointe is home to over 90 brand name outlets. The area continues to expand, year after year. Recent additions include Mellow Mushroom, Community Pizza, Field & Stream, Golden Corral, Jim & Nicks, Burger King, Sprint, First Federal Credit Union Branch, Steak & Shake and Five Guys.
The North Charleston and American LaFrance Fire Museum and Educational Center is also located within Centre Pointe. The Fire Museum houses the largest collection of professionally restored American LaFrance fire apparatus in the country. The 26,000 sq. ft. facility opened to the public in 2007 and currently houses 18 fire trucks and priceless, one of a kind firefighting artifacts.
Northwoods
Northwoods Mall is home to your favorite stores like Belk, Dillard’s, JCPenney and Sears, not to mention other great shops like The Gap, American Eagle Outfitters, Foot Locker, Charlotte Russe and Bath & Body Works. Northwoods Mall has over 130 stores, services and eateries, making this mall a true shopping experience. Northwoods Mall is located off I-26 at Exit 208 and 209 in North Charleston.
